The following tips could help you prevent a loss (and a deductible).  The tips change seasonally to coincide with the most appropriate timing to prevent the loss.

•  Lock garage doors with padlocks from the inside.
   A thief may get in your garage or shed window,
   but they have a hard time getting your large
   equipment out.

•  Tell trusted neighbors when you go on vacation
   and give them your insurance agents phone
   number.

•  Check with your agent about coverage when
   renting a car on vacation.  You may have some
   coverage but there are gaps you should be
   aware of.
